Made My Day and Hopefully My Weekend Too

Just wanted to share a really nice experience from today.  I was working with a sister this morning (in Spanish service) who wanted to quit at 11 and was going directly to her job at the market by bus after service.  She asked me which bus I was to take home.  I said that I needed the 11 and so she said, "great we can take the same bus, let's walk together". I was thinking that I wanted to do one more call but didn't want the sister to think I was ditching her. Anyway, a couple of steps down the road later, the sister was like, oh, I'm tired of walking, I'm just going to take this bus and she jumped on a bus. This left me standing directly in front of the return visit that I was thining of doing.

The girl I wanted to go see wasn't actually so much of a return visit.  I had met her several weeks before while doing door-to-door (well actually more like business-to-business because we have tons of businesses in our territory and do them at the same time as regular territory because the houses and businesses are all mixed up together).  When we met she explained that she comes from a family of witnesses but that she didn't have time to study because she works 6 days per week, from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m. But she was still very friendly.  I wanted to visit her this morning but I didn't have much of a plan as to what to talk about.  When I got there, I happened to mention that we have an assembly Sunday. Guess what her reply was?  She said, "Well, if I come can I sit with you"?  I was like, "Of course". So I gave her my number to call when she gets there. But it gets better. After a little bit more chatting, she asked what I did on Sundays and I said, "Well not much, it's my day to clean and relax and sometimes cook" but then I said, "Why?  Did you want to study the Bible that day"? And she said yes! Then she asked if she could come over my house to hang out a little after the assembly on Sunday! Isn't that so nice? Hope it all works out.

  1. This experience is absolutely an example of why you are where you are right now...It's so great to see Jehovah using you. The blog on the buses was to the usual high standard of sarcasm and hilarity - and the yelling at no commentors was awesome. GO DAMARIS!!! By the way Beth and I were in Joann Fabrics today and we saw a fabric there that was right up your street. Beth said she couldn't get it because it was definately yours...when you get back that is.
